The Town of Oxford is seeking a qualified applicant for the full-time position of Finance Officer. This position works closely with and under the supervision of the Town Manager performing a wide variety of highly responsible administrative support and financial duties. Must be well organized, a team player with excellent written and oral communication skills. Performs accounting and bookkeeping tasks with respect to payroll, accounts payable and receivables, monitors expenditures and revenues, assists in the preparation of budgets, reconciles accounts and prepares financial reports. Must be knowledgeable with municipal software platforms, accurate with details, and work with deadlines. Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks and seek information necessary to be successful at assigned responsibilities. Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Selectmen, departments, employees, the public, state and federal officials.
Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Business, Management or associated field of study, 3-5 years of financial/administrative experience with a preference for experience in local government. Equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to accomplish the required will be considered.

The Town of Oxford is seeking qualified and highly motivated individuals for the position of Town Manager. The Town Manager serves as the Road Commissioner, Tax Collector, General Assistance Administrator and Treasurer.
Oxford has a Town Manager/Select Board/Town Meeting form of government. Oxford is a full service community that includes oversight of two dams, a wastewater treatment facility, transfer station and recycling facility, police, fire and rescue departments and an administration office. The Town has an operating budget of $10 million (including the town’s share of county and school support). The town has 26 full-time and 60 seasonal/per diem employees.
The Board of Selectmen are seeking an individual with a strong background in budget preparation and oversight, fiscal management, human resources, grant preparation, and municipal administration. The desired person should have a background in public works project management, familiarity with waste water treatment operations, and a demonstrated ability to use modern computer technology. An affinity for working with neighboring communities and area businesses is essential.
Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, a positive attitude and a demonstrated leadership ability. An open, visible, collaborative and team oriented management style will be an absolute requirement.
Minimum qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or similar field; 3-5 years of experience as a Town Manager. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Candidates with executive municipal management and finance or comparable experience are encourage to apply.

The Oxford Fire/Rescue Department is seeking highly skilled, self-motivated individuals for Per-diem Fire Suppression and EMS related work. Oxford Fire/Rescue provides 911 Fire/EMS coverage for the town’s population of 4500, approximately 640 EMS and 280 Fire calls per year.
- Valid Maine Driver’s license
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Firefighter II (Firefighter 1 Considered)
- Maine EMT-Paramedic License (Advanced or Basic Considered)
